"We got a hot tip from one our readers, and though it was painful for her to share her secret, she unselfishly did for the greater good! She hired this fabulous personal fashion stylist and now she can't get dressed without her! The stylist is Teri Tkachuk, who moved to Portland, just over a year ago from Vancouver BC. Teri spent the past year having a baby, working on her immigration with her husband and checking out all of Portland's boutiques and retail chains. She used to work with celebrities, dressing them for photo shoots and public appearances. When she was summoned, Teri started with something she calls a "Closet Meeting", and re-organized our reader's wardrobe for a full six hours! She had a checklist of what was missing and then together they hit the pavement to go shopping. Is Naperville a place where well-dressed women gather together over cocktails? Do Naperville women enjoy entertaining speakers? Do they like raising money for those in need? Since the answer to all these questions is a resounding "yes," Naperville Junior Woman's Club seem to be onto a good thing with its upcoming Ladies Night Out fundraiser.
It takes place at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at Hotel Arista, which is quickly becoming Naperville's premier destination for upscale events.
The guest speakers will be Cathy Bouchard of Le Chocolat du Bouchard, talking about the health benefits of chocolate, and Teri Tkachuk Benedetti, celebrity wardrobe stylist and former ABC/KATU fashion editor, who will be discussing the upcoming trends for fall. A few lucky members of the audience will receive a complimentary makeover during this interactive portion of the evening.
There's been a Junior Woman's Club in Naperville since 1967. The original members tended to be stay-at-home moms, but these days, the 70 strong membership includes all kinds of professionals covering a wide age group. Despite the name, there is no direct link with Naperville Woman's Club.
